Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I wish you a heart shaped chocolate brownie with frosting and sprinkles kind of day, with a little craftiness on top!

celebrating the hostesses

Last week on the Hero Arts blog I had the pleasure of introducing the newest group of Hero Hostesses -- Linda, Heather, Anita, Sharon & Sally. Five wonderful women...kind, generous, supportive, talented and then some! All around gems. On Friday, Sarah came up with the fun idea of a color challenge based on the new Hostesses' chosen apron colors:

I hopped on board and here's my card...

The five large tulips each represent a Hostess, while the small daisies are a nod to the traditional yellow Hostess apron. (Hostesses are given yellow aprons with their names and can dress them up as they wish.)

Here's a little on the process: Stamp flowers onto white cardstock with Versamark and emboss with white powder. Watercolor with Memento markers. (Just scribble markers on a non-porous surface, mist with a small amount of water, and paint away.) Watercolor blue background. Stamp thank you text background. Wipe any excess ink from embossed areas. I think the rest is pretty straightforward but if you have any questions, ask away in the comments. :)

Stamps: CG199 Sunny Smiles, CG268 Thank You Definition, S5435 Graph Background, CL510 Sweet Threads Labels (sentiment)

Alrighty, that's enough blah blah blah for a Monday. :) Hope your week's off to a great start!

with sympathy

I wish we never needed to make these sorts of cards.

I've turned to this new Hero Arts With Sympathy set more than I would have liked already this year.

VersaMagic Chalk Inks give great coverage on the flowers. Here are the colors I used:

Pixie Dust, Mango Madness, Tea Leaves, Pink Grapefruit, Pink Petunia.

The grass is stamped by turning the floral image upside down and stamping the stem portion repeatedly with first, second, and third generation inkings. (Same as here.)

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

match made in heaven

Hi there! Just a quick share today -- wanted to show a few cards I created that were displayed in the Hero Arts booth at CHA. These all use the the new BasicGrey stamps (now made by Hero Arts) and patterned papers.

Is this real life? I'm fairly convinced this is the best collaboration ever. :)

Here are three cards with the scrumptious Hello Luscious collection...

And here are a couple more using Life of the Party. It's hard to tell in the smallish photo but I made a rolled paper cone for Little Miss Cotton Candy there...

These are the first two lines that will be released. Lauderdale and Sweet Threads (probably my favorite!) will follow in April.

Delightful. Hope your day is the same!
